John William Kilna, 64, of Gordon, AL, passed away on March 28th after a long battle with cancer.
John was born on December 8th,1959, to John and Viola (Burgdorf) Kilna in St. Johns, Antigua, West Indies. He lived in Gordon, AL for the past 10 years and was a member of the Pilgrims Rest Christian Center.
After attending Fletcher High School, John enlisted in the United States Army and served as a Military Police Officer. After completing his commitment, he returned to Jacksonville, FL, where he met Amberly. John and Amberly spent their days fishing, boating, and gardening and were deeply devoted to each other. He was a loving husband, brother, and friend and will be dearly missed by all.
John is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Vida; and his wife, Amberly. He is survived by his sisters, Therese Kilna-Conrad and Margaret (Geoff) Gibson; brother, Gordon (Robin) Kilna; numerous nieces; nephews; grandnieces; and grandnephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 4th from 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM at Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville. Interment Services with military honors will follow at 12:30 pm in the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL. 32218.
