Alfred "Ray" Harris

Mr. Alfred Ray Harris, age 80, passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 19, 2019. Ray was born and raised in Maxville, Florida and resided in Jacksonville, Florida.
He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was all about loving his family. He was a God loving, kind hearted man and would do anything for anybody.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Thornton Harris; mother, Sallie Deese Harris; father, Alfred Harris; two sons, Michael Ray Harris and Wendell Eugene Harris; and grandson, Christopher Shaun McKenna.
He is survived by his daughter, Angela Jean McKenna; two granddaughters, Christy Renee McKenna, and Cheryl McKenna (fiance’, Joseph Wells); and two great grandkids, Gage Christopher McKenna and Isabella Renee Gilcris.
Pallbearers are nephews, Danny Thornton, Bruce Thornton, Darren Thornton, David Godwin, Jason Godwin, and James Michael Truett.
Visitation will be held from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Blackburn-Curry Funeral and Cremation, 380 N. Lowder Street, Macclenny, FL 32063. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel in Macclenny with Pastor Freddie Griffis from Nolan Ridge Church in Jacksonville officiating. Ray will be laid to rest at Long Branch Cemetery in Maxville, Florida.
