Betty Jean (Tison) Hargett

Betty Jean Tison Hargett, 83, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018. She was a native and lifelong resident of Jacksonville. She was the daughter of the late Phillip Carl and Brattie Rowe Tison. She was a member of North Jacksonville Baptist Church and was a loving mother, grandmother and friend and will be dearly missed by all. She is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Dee Hargett, Jr. and brother, Jimmy Tison. Survivors include her son, Kim Broughton (Rhonda); Brother Carl Tison (Beverly); sister, Nathalie Tison Bass (Raymond); grandchildren, Paige, Kyle and Courtney Broughton, and 9 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 2, at 11am in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, with Rev. Chris Coram officiating. Interment will follow in Tison Cemetery. The family will receive friends starting at 10am on Saturday at the funeral home. (904) 714-1110
