Dennis Nathaniel Curry, 84, passed away on Friday April 19, 2019. He was born in Wauchula, Florida to the late Albert and Maude (Griffis) Curry. He was a member of Dunns Creek Baptist Church and a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School. He was retired from the city of Jacksonville as superintendent of the water department after 30 years of service. He was a veteran and served in the US Air force, and was a member of the Shriners Lodge # 185 and a 33rd degree Mason. He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Ann Curry; daughter, Mary Alice Callahan, brothers, Dorcy and Quitman Byrd, and his sister, Earline Knowles. Survivors include his son, Dennis Vernon Curry (Janet) of Jacksonville; daughters, Janet Yvonne Crosby (Charles) of Callahan, and Laura Annette Sharrow (James Church) of Jacksonville; sister, Edna Mae Martin (Frank) of Moultrie, GA; 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 27, at 3pm in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, with Rev. Dave Malmberg officiating. Interment will follow in Ferreira Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday starting at 2pm at the funeral home.
