Dennis Jae Devine

Dennis Jae Devine age 71, of Yulee, Florida, passed away July 7, 2018 at Baptist Hospital in Jacksonville.

He was born in Maryville, Missouri to Rosa Leigh Hoskins and William S. Devine. He was a Navy veteran who served two tours in the Vietnam War. He retired after 24 years of service as a Navy Chief. He loved fishing, watching NASCAR, cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs and the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was at his happiest when everyone came together for the holidays or special occasions.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosa Hoskins stepfather, Berwyn Hoskins and father, William S Devine.

Dennis is survived by his devoted wife of 23 years, Joyce Devine; sons, Kevin Buckner of Jacksonville, FL and  Albert Purvis of Glenwood, GA;  daughters, Diana Gruben of Lake Placid, FL, Beverly Perdue (Keith) of Eastman, GA, and Karen R Buckner of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Ryan Buckner of Jacksonville, FL, Raegan Wannamaker (Jonathan) of Glen St Mary, FL, Kyle Gruben of Jayton, TX, Tyler Gruben of Valdosta, GA,  Joshua Perdue and  Jonathan Perdue both of Eastman, GA, Baliegh Purvis of Lafayette, IN, Devon Buckner of Jacksonville, FL.

great grandchildren,  Bentley Gruben and Chanleigh Thomas of Eastman, GA, sisters, Pat Vassar (Gary) and  Marle Eastin (Gary) both of Goltry, OK, Pam Black (Denny) of Yuma, CO; brother, David Devine (Holly) of Rapid City, SD

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home with Dr. Johnny Bowman officiating. Interment services with military honors will follow in Jacksonville National Cemetery, Jacksonville, Florida. At 1:00 pm. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to service time. (10:00 am until 11:00 am at the funeral home.
