Floyd Johns Obituary

JOHNS

Floyd Johns, 91, passed away on Thursday May 2, 2019. He was born in Maxville, FL., to the late Preston and Dora (Carter) Johns. He was a veteran and served faithfully in the United States Army and then went on to serve with the United States Navy and was in the logging business. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Maxville and had lived in Clay Hill most of his life. He is preceded in death by his brothers, L.C. Johns and Markerlee Johns, and grandson, Luke Johns.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years Louise; sons, Wayne Johns (Brenda), and Ricky Johns (Dot), daughter, Belinda Johnson (Terry) all of Clay Hill; 4 grandchildren, Mark Johns, Justin Johns, Christopher Johnson, and Amanda Johnson; great grandchildren, Riley, Hayden, Hailey, Finley, Luke, Julia, Layla, and Jacquelyn; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The community of Clay Hill lost one of its last remaining heroes today. Floyd Johns will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He was the bedrock of his family; a loving husband devoted to his wife of 70 years, a steadfast father who always put his children’s needs ahead of his own, and a good friend to many. Godspeed Floyd. May you be in heaven long before the devil knows you have passed. We Love You.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Maxville with Pastor Richard Fish officiating. Interment will follow in Long Branch Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held Monday evening, May 6, 2019, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. At the church.
