Julius Daniel Harris

Julius Daniel Harris Sr., age 67 of Maxville, Florida passed away, Sunday, April 28, 2019, at Baptist Medical Center, Jacksonville, Florida. Daniel was born in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Lonnie and Annabelle [Silver] Harris and had lived in the Maxville / Clay Hill area all of his life. Daniel was a graduate of Baldwin High School, Class of 1970. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Daniel devoted his time and love to the care of his family, and in service to his Lord and Savior as a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Maxville. Daniel was a gentle giant. A man of honor, faith, love, and strength. Someone who could find the good in everyone and the good in just about anything. He loved his walks which was his quiet time, spending time with his family and the Lord. Daniel also enjoyed following gospel groups, listening to gospel music, going to the mountains, carpentry, camping and hunting. But, what really had his heart was his grandkids. He was preceded in death by his brother, Rick Harris and sister, Phyllis White.

He is survived by his wonderful wife of 47 years Sue Harris; son, Julius Daniel “Danny” Harris Jr. (Jessica) and his daughter, Michelle Sweat (Fred) all of Maxville, FL; 3 grandchildren, Emily, Skyler and Julius III; brothers, Timothy Harris of Folkston, GA and Bobby Harris (Barbara) of San Antonio, TX; sisters, Judy Ellis (Grady) of Macclenny, FL and Denise Williams of Maxville, FL; and many nieces and nephews.  

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am, on Saturday, May 4th, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Maxville with Pastor Richard Fish officiating. Interment will follow in Long Branch Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday evening, May 3rd, 2019, at First Baptist Church of Maxville.
