Linda Reed Obituary

Linda Gay (Yates) Reed, born on May 16, 1941 in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late Mary Ray (Acosta) and the late Willie Yates, passed away at age 77 on March 13, 2019. She graduated from Ribault High School in 1959. She was an Administrative Assistant at ATT/CITIBank. Linda was the beloved wife of the late Raymond Reed, Sr.. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, William Ray. Linda is survived by her sons, Raymond Reed, Jr. (Edwine) and Jack Reed (Ruben Quinones); daughters, Terri Reed and Robin Long (JJ); brother, Tom Ray (Laura); sister, Sheryl Payne (Bud); and grandchildren, Cade Long, Connor Long, Suellen Palmieri (Nick), Lucas Quinones-Reed, Sarah Reed, Laura Reed, and Keira Reed. Linda had a passion for ceramics, painting, gardening and shopping. She was a member of Baptist faith. Friends and family members may attend the visitation on Saturday, March 16 from 11:00 to 12:00 p.m. at Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, (904) 714-1110. Funeral service starting at 12pm in the funeral home with Pastor Alan Walker officiating. Interment will follow at the Acosta Family Cemetery, North Jacksonville.
