Marcus "Ray" Sellers, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Friday November 25 2016. He was born November 15, 1931 in Vidalia, GA to the late Raymond & Alma Sellers. Ray had lived in Jacksonville for the past 60 years, coming from Augusta, GA, attended Mount Vernon High School and was a member of North Jacksonville Baptist Church. He opened his lifelong business, U.S. Fleet Service, where he had many employees work for him through the years and was recently sent a message by one of his men to say he would not be who he is today without him and wanted to thank Ray for helping him. Ray was a born business man and enjoyed his profession while helping others but mostly enjoyed out fishing them. He was an avid fisherman who loved to call up the fish while in his boat. Although Ray enjoyed fishing and hunting, he loved his family even more. Anytime was a good time to get together as he would say. Anyone who knew Ray will tell you he never met a stranger. Even in his senior years they knew him in any restaurant he visited and "loved" him. Ray was preceded in death by his son, Donnie; granddaughter, Denessa; great grandson, Gabriel; brother, Marvin Sellers; sisters, Lola Mae Tullis and Editha King. Survivors include the love of his life and wife of 65 years, Janet; daughters, Debbie Jones (Ernie), Dianne DeRossett (Wayne), Denise Sellers; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; nephew, Duel Davis (Ann); nieces, Tammy and Janice; numerous extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 30, 2016 at 1pm in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Rd, Jacksonville, with Rev. Tim Rigdon officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday beginning at 12pm at the funeral home, 714-1110. Interment will follow in Riverside Memorial Park.
