Nancy Elaine (Back) Hodges

Nancy Elaine Back Hodges, 65, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on July 2, 2018 after a long battle with COPD. Nancy was born November 5, 1952 in Norfolk, VA to Mildred and Leo Back. She married Lancie J. Hodges, Jr. , June 16, 1972. She graduated with a High School Diploma from FCCJ in 1992. She worked as a home health aide until she was diagnosed with COPD in November of 2012. Nancy was a kind and generous soul who loved her family, friends and clients with her whole heart. She had a sharp wit and a wicked sense of humor. She was always ready to lend a hand or help someone in need. She opened her heart and her home to many people over her lifetime. Everyone was welcome.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 46 years, Lancie J. Hodges, Jr. Her daughter, Rose Lynn Allen Rodriguez (Miguel) of Wellington, FL. Her three grandchildren, Jaci Rodriguez, Raina Rodriguez and Emma Rose Rodriguez, all of Wellington, FL. Her mother, Mildred C. Dittman (Harlan), her father, Leo F. Back (Mary Joyner). Her siblings: Richard Back, James Back, Donald Back (Judy Danko), Deborah Patton and Robert Back (Pamela). And many beloved Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jason Daymon.

Services for Nancy will be held on Saturday, July 7th, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 798 Chaffee Road N, Jacksonville, FL 32220. A private family viewing will be at 3pm. A public viewing at 4pm and services at 5pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your local Hospice provider in Nancy’s memory.
