Sandra Leigh McLean

Sandra Leigh McLean, 60, peacefully passed away on December 28, 2019 in Jacksonville Florida. She was born in Jacksonville, on November 12, 1959, to Margie Murphey and Joseph Kennedy.

She is remembered by her sons, Daniel and Greg McLean; brothers, Richard, Gary, and Michael Kennedy; fiance, Roger Beverley; stepfather, Charles Murphey; nieces and nephews; and many others.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Margie Murphey and Joseph Kennedy, and her daughter, Victoria Leigh McLean.

Sandy was an extremely creative, talented and charismatic person who was dearly loved by her family and friends. She was a very giving person and had an uncanny ability to minister to those she came in contact with. She married Mark McLean in 1981, and together they started a beautiful family. During their 16-year marriage, they had three children: Daniel, Gregory, and Victoria. Sandy loved her children more than life itself, and considered them to be her greatest blessings! As a young mother, she founded the H.E.A.R.T. Homeschool group which she led for six years. For many years she was very involved at various churches including Evangel Temple as a member of the choir and other ministries. With her entrepreneurial spirit, she launched a business as a wedding coordinator and caterer. In 1999, as a single mother, she obtained her Florida Real Estate License at Florida State College of Jacksonville and became a realtor for Vanguard Realty. She was a gifted writer. Her writings include poems, blogs, and stories. Her bubbly personality and sense of humor were very evident in every aspect of her life. Her strong faith and love of her children were her foundation as she battled many health issues and faced difficult trials throughout her life. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends and all who knew her.

The family will honor her this weekend and receive friends on Friday, January 10th, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home,

405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville FL.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 11 at 2:00 pm at Edgewood Cemetery, 4519 N Edgewood Dr. Jacksonville FL.
