Steven Earl Purvis

Steven Earl Purvis, 54, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Halifax Health Medical Center, Daytona Beach. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida the son of Jessie E. Purvis and Shirley A. Burke (Pate). Steve was a loving husband, father, a wonderful grandfather and friend who enjoyed watching spaghetti westerns, and he lived to go fishing, but his heart belonged to his family and his greatest treasure was his grandchildren.
He is survived by his caring wife of 25 years, Vickie Purvis, sons, David Story, Cecil Story (Erin), Jason Purvis (Ann) and his adopted son, Jeff Billings (Brandy) all of Jacksonville, FL; father, Jessie Earl Purvis, Miami, FL; mother, Shirley Ann Burke, Callahan, FL; brother, David Wayne Purvis (Denise), Callahan, FL; niece, Ashley Purvis; 11 grandchildren, Katie, Bryan, Paige, Trey, Will, C.J., Lexi, Alyson, Trinity, Ella, and Gabby, As well as his close family friend, Angela Russell.  
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday evening, June 18, 2018 at the funeral home.
