Obituary

Adrian (Ace or Shakey) Cancienne, born on March 10, 1949, passed away unexpectedly on January 30, 2025, at the age of 75. A devoted family man, and proud U.S. Navy veteran, Adrian lived a life of service, hard work, and love.

After honorably serving his country during wartime in the U.S. Navy, Adrian built a long and fulfilling career with the railroad before retiring. He was a man of quiet strength and unwavering dedication, always putting his family first. His kindness, wisdom, and steadfast presence will be deeply missed.

Adrian was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Alice Cancienne; his brothers, Edward and David Cancienne; and his beloved wife, Janice Cancienne.

He is survived by his brother, Dennis Cancienne; sisters, Deborah Karter, Denise January, and Pam Cancienne; his daughter, Jennifer Auger, and son-in-law, Lee Auger; his stepdaughter, Nicole Bertone, and son-in-law, Joey Bertone; and his grandchildren. Tragically, his son, Matthew Cancienne, left this earth just five days after Adrian’s passing, leaving an even greater void in the hearts of their loved ones.

As the family copes with this immense loss, they humbly ask for donations to help cover funeral expenses. Any contribution, no matter the amount, would be deeply appreciated. Donations can be sent directly to https://gofund.me/f0a54d8d.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor Adrian’s life. The family is grateful for the love and support of those who knew and cared for him. May he rest in peace, reunited with those he loved.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Cedar Bay Funeral Home
