Ashlynn Dawn Smith, 18, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021. She was born on Thursday, September 18, 2002, in Fernandina Beach, Florida, to Anthony and Christina (Cabler) Smith. She is a 2021 graduate of West Nassau High School in Callahan, where she had a 4.6 weighted GPA and completed 11 college courses from Florida State College of Jacksonville. She also completed the Certified Nursing Assistant program and earned her CNA Certification, and was a member of the National Honors Society. She worked at Small Town Rags as a sales associate, Brooks Rehabilitation-Callahan as a physical therapy assistant, Beauty Loft as an eyelash technician, and most recently Atlas Chiropractic as a chiropractic assistant. She is preceded in death by her mother, Christina Kay (Cabler) Smith, grandmother, Donna Turner, grandfather, Arthur Dwight Smith, and uncle, Ronald (Buddy) Cabler Jr. Survivors include her father, Anthony David Smith (Kristi Lynne Dixon); Aunts: Melissa Cabler, Blair Cabler, Nickie Cabler and April McFalls, Uncles: DJ Cabler, Eddie Cabler, Josh Cabler and Jeremy McFall’s; Paternal grandparents: Patricia and Ken Clark, maternal grandfather Ronald Cabler Sr.; boyfriend, Ethan Whitty, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Callahan, with Pastors D. Lynn Hyatt, Jeff Carter, and Hal McIntosh officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Jacksonville. The family will receive friends at the church starting at 11:00 a.m.
