Betty Courson Monk

  Betty Courson Monk, 89, passed away on Friday November 13, 2020. She was born in Pierce County, Georgia on December 3, 1930 to the late James and Minerva (Smith) Courson and has lived most of her life in Jacksonville. She was a member of the American Legion of Jacksonville Post # 137 and the VFW Post #7909. She is preceded in death by her husband Roy Dell Monk, sons, Marshall Alan Musgrove, Danny and Steve Monk; daughter Glenda Musgrove Heller, and her brother, Allen Ottis Courson. Survivors include her children, Diane Sholar and Rodney Monk; grandchildren, Hank, Russ, Bryan, Donna-Gail and Simon, nieces, Sandra, Rhonda, Karen and Betty, also a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 17, 2020 at 11am in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, with Rev. Randy Monk officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery Jacksonville. The family will receive friends on Monday evening at the funeral home from 6pm until 8pm.
