Bobbie Thomas Obituary

Mrs. Bobbie Sue Thomas went to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. She passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her family.

Bobbie Sue, as she was affectionately known, was born in Hattiesburg, MS, on September 5, 1930, to Eura and Garland Ernest.

She lived in Roanoke, Alabama before eventually relocating to Maxville, Florida where she resided for over 60 years. She achieved her Associate Degree from Florida Junior College and was also a licensed cosmetologist.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 60 years, Mr. Homer Thomas, and sisters, Evelyn, Jim, Betty, and Anne. She is survived by her beloved children Freddy Thomas, Gail Sandoval (Ritchie), Linda Ashley Vanzant (Donnie), Randy Thomas, Darlene Tucker, Patricia Jo Hobbs (Richard), Kerry Dean Thomas, Tony Thomas (Brenda) and Tracy Thomas (Tory). She was also the stepmother to 8 children.

She will be deeply missed by her loving 9 children, 28 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral service will be held at Maxville First Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 1, 2022.  Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m., and the service will begin at 12:00 p.m.. Graveside at Long Branch Cemetery followed by a luncheon at Maxville First Baptist Church.
