Bonnie Sue Watson

Bonnie Sue Watson will be welcomed with open arms when she opens her eyes in Heaven by him.  Born June 13, 1951, in Franklin, New Jersey to Frieda Marie Gelaro, she passed away on March 7, 2025, at the age of 73.  She moved to Jacksonville, Florida around 1964.  She graduated from Andrew Jackson High School.  While hanging out at the drive-in concession stand, she met her husband of 54 years, Thomas Elzie Watson Sr.  Bonnie spent 40 years driving for FL Gelaro as a bus driver until she retired.  During her free time, she would love to "drown a worm every chance she got", enjoyed watching Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smackdown.  Loved all types of roses and cherished the Georgia Bulldogs and their trip to Athens.  Her most favorite time was seeing her family together, especially the holidays. She was predeceased by her grandmother, Evelyn Esther Winters and in-laws Thomas and Loleita Watson.  She is survived by her mother, Frieda Marie Gelaro, husband, Thomas Elzie Watson Sr., daughter, Cynthia Sue Watson, son, Thomas Elzie Watson Jr., (daughter in law), Jerri Colbert, son, Christopher Eugene Watson (son in law) Ed Taylor.  Grandchildren, Carollanne Marie Watson with Zach Lunsford and their daughter Annabelle, Kayla Suzanne Watson, and twin Kyle Eugene Watson, his daughter Kandace with her mom, Amanda Schroeder, and sister-in-law Susan Taylor. Sister, Patricia, with husband John Zatorski, children, Dionnne, Tommy, Jessica and families. Brother William Hammell Jr and wife Maureen, Brother Brent Hammell with wife Mary, and Brother Mark Hammell and wife, Christine, Brother Thomas Gelaro and wife Louise, and Children, And countless family and dear friends. She will be remembered for that big heart for everyone, that smile, and those beautiful blue eyes.  She fought hard and wanted to be home with her family.  She was not ready to leave this place and her family.  The Lord had better things planned for her.  You leaving us put a major void in our hearts, but just know we will always love you, and what a strong woman you are for what you went through.    We will miss you dearly.  Don't worry about Dad, Kayla and us, we got this.  Get some rest Mom, finally. 

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13th, 2025, from 10-11 am in the Chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, FL, 32218 

The Celebration of Life will be held at 11 am at the Funeral Home 

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Cedar Bay Funeral Home
