Carl and his wife, Susan, got married on March 26, 1982, in Annapolis, Maryland. He shared his love for sailing with Susan and daughter, Shannon. Carl and Susan moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1996 where he continued his career in real estate, with over 40 years in the industry. He was a very generous, caring and family-oriented man.
