Carl Tison Obituary

Carl Phillip Tison, 83, lifelong resident of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2020. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida on January 12, 1937 to the late Philip Tison and Brattie (Rowe) Tison. He attended Andrew Jackson High School, was a long time member of Pine Baptist Church of Garden City where he served as trustee and music director.

Carl is preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Fussell, sister, Betty Hargett, brother, Jimmy Tison, and son in law, Jason Flood. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Beverly Turner Tison; son, Carl Phillip Tison II; daughters, Phillis Wesley (Darren), Letitia Rountree (Randy), Dena Flood and Cheyenne Townsend; sister, Nathalie Bass (Raymond); grandchildren, Amanda (Sonny), MJ (Austin), Holly (Hunter), Joshua (Heather), Kayla, Dalton, Melody, Lora- Jane, and Tison;  10 great grandchildren.

 Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, with Pastor Darren Wesley officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday at 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Tison’s Dunn Creek Cemetery Jacksonville.
