In Loving Memory of Charlotte Faye Cowart, September 12th, 1945 - June 9th, 2026

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Charlotte Faye Cowart, lovingly known as Faye.

Faye was the epitome of kindness, generosity, and compassion. She was always there for anyone in need and spent her life giving to others without expecting anything in return. Her caring spirit, selflessness, and unwavering love for family and friends touched countless lives and will never be forgotten.

A devoted mother, Faye worked hard every day to provide for and raise her four daughters, ensuring they had everything they needed. Her strength, determination, and endless love served as an inspiration to all who knew her.

Faye retired from the City of Jacksonville Mosquito Control Division, where she dedicated many years of service. She took great pride in her work and in serving her community.

Outside of work, Faye found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a deep love for animals and a special gift for nurturing flowers and plants. Whether tending to her plants, caring for animals, or sharing the beauty of her flowers with others, Faye’s gentle and caring nature shone through in everything she did.

Faye was also an avid reader who especially enjoyed romance novels. She could often be found immersed in the pages of a good book, particularly those written by Danielle Steel, whose stories brought her countless hours of enjoyment and comfort.

Faye was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tommy Cowart; her daughters, Belinda and Thomesa; and her grandchildren, Candy, Tisha, Millie, and Wedge.

She leaves behind her loving daughters, Rose and Janie; her grandchildren, Roger, Tonya, Daniel, George, Tiffany, and Billy; and 13 great-grandchildren, all of whom will cherish her memory and carry forward the lessons of love, kindness, and generosity that she instilled in them.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in the legacy of love, strength, and compassion that Faye leaves behind. Her memory will live on in the lives she touched, the family she loved so deeply, and the many acts of kindness she shared throughout her life.

Forever loved, forever missed, and forever remembered, Granny Faye to everyone she met.

A Celebration of Faye’s Life will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Cedar Bay Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
