Charlotte Mock Greene

Charlotte Mock Greene, 92, lifelong resident of Jacksonville, passed away peacefully
surrounded by her family  on April 20, 2023.  She was born on June 28, 1930 to Jesse and Hazel
Mock.  She is predeceased by her daughter, Nancy, and her life partner, Dave Sistrunk.  She is
survived by her daughter Teresa Buckley, sons Mike (Bonnie) Greene and Tony (Debbie)
Greene, sisters Joann Overstreet and Jeanie (Fred) Krazit, extended family Donna Thomas and
Vicki (Mickey) Hinson, grandchildren Micah Greene (Tiffany), Kelley Nunn (Jesse), Ashley
Gresham (Cory), Brent Buckley, Shelby Greene, Cody Greene, Zach Greene, Jessica Thomas,
David (Annika) Thomas, and Whitney Hinson, 7 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and
nephews.
She was a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School class of 1948.  She retired from Bell South,
"the telephone company", in 1983, after over 35 years of work, where she was one of the first
female outside-plant engineers at the time of her retirement.
Charlotte spent many years volunteering with hospice, the hospital, the food bank, schools, and
her church, but her greatest joy in life was her family.  She was happiest when everyone would
gather at her house for a meal or while watching a grandchild achieve their latest
accomplishment.  She could often be found outside in the yard pulling weeds or sweeping the
porch. She was so many things to so many people, and we will miss her dearly. 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 24, 2023, at 11 am in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, with Rev. Ike Matthews officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday morning starting at 10 am.
