Ciriaco “Rick” Garcia Ricafrente, 88, of Jacksonville, FL passed away peacefully on October 9, 2022 at
home. Mr. Ricafrente was born in Cavite, Philippines on August 8, 1934. He is preceded in death by his
parents and two sisters.
Rick joined the US Coast Guard in 1957 as a Culinary Specialist and served 20 years before retiring at his
final location of Mayport, FL. He went on to have a successful career as Head Chef for Wyndham Hotels.
He had a great love for sports, cooking and most importantly his family. His house was home to many,
and no one ever left hungry.
While he was known as “Big Rick” and Lolo, his favorite was Daddy. He was truly the world’s greatest
dad. He is loved so much and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife Sonia and eight children: Richard (Debbie) Belinda, Bobby (Pam), Bonnie
(Rodger), Lisa (Tommy), Maurice, Rendy (Beth) and Ryan Grandchildren: Lindsay, Kirby, Miranda, Amy,
Alexis, Levi, Erika, Morgan, Logan, Brooke, Jordan, Bryson and Bentley. Along with many great-grand
children, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday October 17, 2022 at 11am in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, Jacksonville, FL, with Pastor Micah Strickland officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Jacksonville National Cemetery, Jacksonville, at 1pm. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Monday starting at 10am.
