Clayton Atkins

Atkins             Clayton Atkins, 92, passed away, Sunday May 3, 2020 at Community Hospice Jacksonville. Clayton was born in Blooming Grove, New York to the late Dean and Maud Atkins. He married the love of his life, Ellen (Schoonmaker), on January 6, 1952. They lived and raised their 4 boys in Orange County, New York, where Clayton was a commercial vehicle paint specialist with Ford Motor Co for 25 years. After retirement, Clayton and Ellen relocated to Jacksonville Florida to be closer to family. Clayton proudly served our country in the US Army post WWII in Germany. Clayton enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his beloved wife Ellen in their treasured RV. Clayton is survived by his wife of 68 years Ellen, his sons Clayton, Harry (Ann), Michael (Susan), Richard (Wendy), sister in law Thirza Bremer, grandchildren; Jennifer, Matthew, Christine, Michael Edward, Kyle, Kelly, and Richard “Danny”, Great- grandchildren; Dillon, Mia, Colin, Dylan, David, and Dean, nieces, nephews and close family friends.  Memorial services with military honors will be held at a later date in Jacksonville National Cemetery.
