Clyde David VanEnkevort, 2, went to make heaven a funnier place on December 18, 2022. Clyde was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on July 25, 2020, the son of Dallas and Samantha VanEnkevort. Clyde was an adventurous little boy who brought joy to anyone he met. Even though he was only on this earth for a brief time, his impact was profound. His goofiness and humor reminded us every day not to take life too seriously and enjoy the small moments. He loved excavators (or any piece of large machinery for that matter) and made sure we knew it was there whenever we drove by them. He was our Clyde-saurus, pretending to be a dinosaur and roar whenever he saw one. If there was a ball anywhere close, he was going to find it and play catch with you. Clyde had a determination and stubbornness that was rivaled by none. If you had a job to do, he was going to help whether it be vacuuming the carpet or helping his dad make a shake. And if you did an excellent job, he would clap and smile, letting you know he approved. His teachers would say he was 100% boy. We lovingly referred to him as our little sour patch kid because even though he had a love for chaos, he would instantly become the sweetest little boy in the world when he wanted to snuggle or give kisses. He could not go to bed without his stuffy, blankie, and kisses from his parents and big sister. His big blue eyes could melt any heart he met. His joy and his laughter were a gift to this world that will never be forgotten. His spirit will live forever in the hearts and minds of every person who was lucky enough to have known him. Clyde is now giggling with his grandparents, Dave and Paula Eckstein who preceded him in death. He is survived by his mother, Samantha; father, Dallas; sister, Mia; grandparents: Dirk and Laura VanEnkevort. He leaves behind a large extended family who loved him dearly.
A Service of Remembrance will be held Friday, January 6, 2023, at Cedar Bay Funeral Home located at 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, Florida, at 3pm. If possible, the family requests of those attending to wear themed attire such as a shirt with a picture of a dinosaur, construction equipment (excavator, bulldozer, etc.) or monster trucks. Please do not wear a suit and tie. Our little boy was nothing but fun and we want this service to reflect that, thank you.
