Curtis (Ozie) Mansfield Ossman, Sr., age 83, passed away peacefully at home on
Sunday, December 20, 2020. He was born on August 6, 1937, in Shelby, MI, to Roy E.
and Kathrina Wade Ossman, both deceased. He was preceded in death by his sisters,
Doris Charlton and Jeanne Harper. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marilyn Stone
Ossman, a son Curtis (Denise) Ossman, Jr., daughters Cathie (Bill) Lambert and Dina
(Kevin Alexander) Ghee, and 3 grandchildren Dylan (Tiffany Warren) Ghee, Christian
(Hayley) Ossman and Tiffany Ossman, a brother Richard (Beverly) Ossman and many
nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
He served 20 years in the USMC, which included two tours in Vietnam, and upon
retirement resided in Jacksonville, FL. He also worked for FJC (now FSCJ) and North
Florida Shipyards. He was a Jack of All Trades and helped build or repair nearly
anything he set his mind to. He enjoyed working on vehicles, especially classic Fords,
and weekly target practice with multiple arms at the Gateway Rifle & Pistol Club. He
was a member of Highlands United Methodist Church.
He loved his family; we are incredibly blessed to have had him in our lives and he will
be missed for eternity.
A private service will be held in the Jacksonville National Cemetery.
