David Stanley Black

David Stanley Black, 75, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at UF Shands in Gainesville. He was born in Norfolk, Virginia to Garland and Dorothy (Hammond) Black. David was a veteran of the US Navy and retired after 20 years of service with the Air National Guard. He was a mechanic by trade and loved his family.
David was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Elizabeth Black of Jacksonville; son, David S. Black of Jacksonville; daughter, Teresa Patton of Jacksonville; brothers, Zane Black of Iowa and Ben Black of Jacksonville; sister, Sheila Hammond of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Nadine, Dezaray, and Brian; 6 great-grandchildren; along with nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at Cedar Bay Funeral Home. A Graveside Service with military honors will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2020, at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
