David Averitt Watson passed away on Monday, July 6, 2020. He was born on February 17, 1938, in Baxley, Georgia to the late William and Cassie (Raulerson) Watson. He has lived in Jacksonville since 1957, he was Baptist by faith and a longtime member of DUVAL STATION BAPTIST CHURCH. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend and he will be dearly missed by all. Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Wilma Watson; sons, Wayne Watson, and Scott (Stephanie) Watson; stepsons, James, Ronnie, and Tim Taylor; Daughters, Cheryl Wiesler (Gary), Theresa Murrhee, and Donna Hull; stepdaughter Diane Flowers (Dan); brothers, Jack Watson (Wanda), Donnie Watson, and Delmus Watson (Theresa); sister, Mary Upton; 19 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 11th at 11 am in the DUVAL STATION BAPTIST CHURCH at 13734 Lyle Road, Jacksonville, Florida, with Pastor Jimmy Flanagan officiating. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park, Jacksonville. The family will receive friends at Cedar Bay Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6pm until 8pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation at 888-558-5385. Anyone attending the visitation or services is required to wear a face mask.
