Delphia Kay Gagnon

Gagnon - Delphia “Kay” Gagnon, age 77 of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on May 24, 2026.

As we mark the passing of our dear Kay to a better world, some words need to be said of this very special lady. Kay was a true Southern girl in every respect, whose life began seventy-seven years ago, one of thirteen siblings, a Jacksonville native. She was married to her loving and devoted husband, Gerald Gagnon, for 49 years. Her later years were spent in retirement at her home on Black Hammock Island where she enjoyed the quiet setting of the island’s natural peace and beauty.

Kay loved life, Southern cooking, fishing, NASCAR racing, a good book, and a challenging puzzle. Most of all, she dearly loved her husband, family, and friends. When it came to fishing, Kay was unmatched in her talent for landing the most hook wary flounder and could fill a tub full of blue crab in record time. Kay’s talents did not end on the fishing dock, as she was well known by family and friends for cooking up some of the tastiest and mouthwatering homemade Southern dishes one could imagine. Hospitable to a fault, everyone was always warmly welcomed under her roof where, on the spur of the moment, setting an extra plate for the unexpected visitor was the norm.

Although we mourn the passing of our beloved Kay, we celebrate the life she lived as a devoted wife, sister, and friend. May she find the unending peace and love of our Lord Jesus, promised to those who love Him.
