Dorothy Willene Mitchell, “The Bestest Mama in The Whole Wide World” Was born July 9, 1930 in Shorterville, Alabama. She grew up in Albany, Georgia before moving to Jacksonville, Florida in the 1950’s... She passed, Monday, November 22, 2021 at home with her Loving Family by her side. She is predeceased by her Parents, Siblings: Maureen Dyes, Don Brooks and Joette Leel, Sons: Michael Earl Mitchell and Robert LaDon Mitchell. Grandchildren: Margaret Willene Black Schaefer (Peggie) and Robert Louis Someillan. Great Grandchildren: Rebecca Lynette Suzanne Howell and William Nicholas Howell. Sons in law: John Joseph Black II and Louis Donald Someillan. She is survived by her children: Carolyn Rebecca Mitchell Harris ( Lee ), Janice Lynette Mitchell Black, Johnathan Allen Mitchell ( Kathy ), Wanda Suzanne Mitchell Someillan. Many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild, along with Nieces, Nephews and Cousins who Love her and will always miss her... She retired from Sea-Land Services as a PBX Operator. She enjoyed Sewing, Crochet and many other Crafts and she has 2 rooms full of material and such to attest to that. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 1pm in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, Jacksonville, with Rev. Ronald Long officiating. Interment will follow in Hughes Cemetery, Yulee, FL. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday starting at 12pm.
