Ellen Jeanelle (Denby) Williams

Ellen Jeanelle Denby Williams, 83 years old, went to be home with her Heavenly Father on September 3, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at Community Hospice in the Douglas Center for Caring located at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida.

She was born on June 21, 1941 in Chula, Georgia, and graduated from Warwick High School in Warwick, Georgia, in 1960.   On April 11, 1963, she married her best friend, Perry Dennis Williams, and was blessed with three sons, Dennis Marcus Williams, James Donivan Williams, and Perry Keith Williams. They moved to Fernandina Beach, Florida in 1967 and moved to Yulee, Florida in 1968.

She is currently a member of Yulee Baptist Church and participated in Sunday School, Regular Worship, Bible Study, Prayer, and assisted with the Food Pantry. Previously, she attended North Jacksonville Baptist Church and Hedges Baptist Church in Yulee, Florida.

She was very thankful for the blessings God had given her and so proud of her husband of 58 years as they shared a wonderful loving marriage together.  As a homemaker, she enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, gardening, sewing, and many various crafts. She always enjoyed spending time with her family, and vacations in the Smoky Mountains and Dollywood in Tennessee, listening to gospel music from The Kingdom Heirs, Gaithers, and many other gospel singing groups, and taking moonlit walks on the beach with her husband.

Ellen lived her life to the fullest and always looked forward to sharing family memories together. Ellen was loved by so many people and her loss will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her.

She was predeceased by her husband, Perry Dennis Williams, parents, George Marcus Denby and Nellie Leeila Bledsoe Denby, parents-in-law, Odis Donivan Williams and Nellie Mae Brooks Williams, brothers, Grady Monroe Denby, Stanford Theo Denby, brother-in-law, Thomas Clark, and several aunts and uncles.

She is survived by many loving family members and friends including her three sons, Dennis Marcus Williams (Robin) of Jacksonville, Florida, James Donivan Williams of Green Cove Springs, Florida, Perry Keith Williams, of Yulee, Florida, sisters, Helen Clark of Slyvester, Georgia, Glenda Clark (Robert) of Slyvester, Georgia, and Jennifer Plunket (Jim) of Chico, Texas, brother-in-law, Doni Williams (Wanda) of Macon, Georgia, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM with Pastor Doug Sides officiating, and burial will follow at 1:00 PM at the Jacksonville National Cemetery.
