Gene junior Jowers

Gene Junior Jowers, age 78, passed away at home Saturday, August 27, 2022. He was born on August 28, 1943 in Axon, Georgia to the late Arthur Jowers and Nettie (WIldes) Jowers, and has lived in Jacksonville, Florida for the past 60 years

He is preceded in death by his sisters, Latrelle Taylor and Shirley Rowell. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Nina Jowers; son, Scott Jowers (Amy); daughter, Cindy Jowers; grandchildren, Brianna (Shawn), Emily, and Nicholas; and one great grandchild, Carter Ward; sister, Judy Stapleton; niece, Nell Thompson; nephew; James Rowell (Kelly), and a host of other friends and relatives. Gene loved working on cars, lawnmowers, going fishing with family and friends when he wasn’t helping others with projects or repairing cars.

Services will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 11am in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, with Dr. David S Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery immediately following the service.
