Haywood Smith

Smith,                                 Haywood Smith, 89, passed away on Saturday June 26, 2021. He was born in Raleigh, North Carolina in 1932 to the late Samuel and Hattie (Johnson) Smith and has lived in Jacksonville since 1948. He was Baptist by faith. He is preceded in death by his wife Lurline, and son, Haywood Eugene Smith. Survivors include his sons, Richard “Rick” Smith (Gwenevere), and Russell Smith; daughter, Connie Foltz (Tim); brother, Robert Wasdin; grandchildren, Marshall, Travis, Dalton, Allison, and Courtney; great grandchildren, Emma, Jonathan, Alivia, and Easton, and a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside services with military honors will be held on Wednesday June 30, 2021 at 1:30 pm in Jacksonville National Cemetery, with Rev. Ken Barney officiating.
