JOHN DAVID BUTLER

BUTLER                 John David Butler, Sr. 72, passed away on Sunday July 29, 2018. He was born in Panama City, FL, to the late Lumen and Mamie Gill Butler. John was a veteran and served in the US Army. His hobbies were NASCAR, fishing, yard sales and playing poker. He is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Rita Faye Butler. Survivors include his sons, John David Butler, JR (Hope), and David Millington. Daughter, Christina Kellie Stamper; brothers, Harold Slay. Jimmy Harrell, and Steve Butler; sisters, Cheriel Gulley, Myra Tramel, and Sue Grilz; grandchildren, John Butler III, Milissa Butler, Brian Butler, Dakota Brandenburg, and Gary Stamper, III; 10 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday August 3, 2018 at 12noon in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, with Rev. John Casper officiating. The family will receive friends starting at 11am on Friday. Interment with military honors will follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery at 2pm on Friday.
