James Darren Chewning

    James Darren Chewning, 49, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2020. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida on January 21,1971. James graduated from Duncan U. Fletcher High School class of 1989 and grew up as a member of Garden City Church of God. He was employed as a painter with the North Florida Ship Yards. He enjoyed science-fiction movies, comic books, electronics, spending time with his best friends who were also his cousins, and caring for his beloved dog, Stella. James had a big smile, a big heart, and he was loved by many. Survivors include his parents James and Vanessa (Howard) Chewning; sisters, Barbara Chandler, Samantha Brewer (Jeff), and Dakota Wilson (Josh), several nieces and nephews as well as a host of other relatives and friends whose lives James touched. Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 15, 2020 at 11am in Jacksonville Memory Gardens of Orange Park, with Minister Ryan Frederick (Lake Forest church of Christ) officiating.
