James Olin Tarrant

James Olin Tarrant (Jaybird), age 78, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at home. He was born on September 11, 1945, in Douglas, Georgia, to the late Archie Tarrant and Lonnie Branch Tarrant. James was a sheet metal worker. He loved playing baseball and going camping and fishing with his friends at the jetties.

James is survived by his daughter, Kay Shahan; 3 sisters, Lurlyne McGregor, Jolene Jones, and Maxine Binkley; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 6 pm on Friday, March 1, 2024, in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Rd in Jacksonville, Florida at 6 pm with Pastor John Dicus officiating.
