“Janet” Pearl Sellers, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 4, 2018. She was born Febuary 26, 1934 in Englewood, TN to the late Boyd and Sue Buckner. Janet had lived in Jacksonville for the past 60 years, coming from Augusta, GA, was a graduate of Tubman High School in Augusta, GA, and attended Florida Community College where she received her business certificate. She was a lifelong member of North Jacksonville Baptist Church where she greatly enjoyed being a member of the choir. Fridays were always reserved for a hair appointment with her stylist of 38 years, Vivian. Janet was truly a southern lady in many ways, especially the desire to look her best, something she accomplished regardless of the Florida weather. She was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 66 years, Marcus “Ray” Sellers; son, Donnie; granddaughter, Denessa; great granddaughter, Gabriel; brother, Lee Buckner; and sister, Dorothy Sutton. Survivors include daughters, Debbie Jones (Ernie), Dianne DeRossett (Wayne), Denise Sellers; brother, Warren Buckner; sister, Pauletta Nimmons (Morris); 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces, extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 11am in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, with Rev. Tim Rigdon officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday morning at 10 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Riverside Memorial Park, Jacksonville.
