Jerri Ilene Rhodman was born Friday night, September 11th, 1964, at Wesley Hospital in Wichita Kansas to mother, Linda Ann and Father, Fred Eugene Holland. She was almost born at a party, and eleven people raced Linda to the hospital where Jerri was born a short 30 minutes later!
She was an energetic baby; was walking at 9 months, and talking at 11 months. Her first word was KITTY, and that really was the motivation for the rest of her life, as she loved all animals and would rescue as many as she could. She always wanted a farm so she could surround herself with as many animals as she could find.
Jerri graduated from East High school, Wichita, Kansas in 1983, then went on to Wichita Business College where she received a diploma in computer technologies. She used that training to get a job at Gateway computer systems in North Sioux City, South Dakota where she assembled and tested new systems. Unfortunately, when Gateway down-sized due to struggling sales, Jerri was laid-off.
She was quite adept at doing a myriad of jobs to support her family, from driving a truck of milk from the farm to the processing plant to be homogenized, to transporting bees from one colony site to another. She would laughingly tell us about having to get a bee-keeper suit since the bees would sometimes escape and she would have to shoo them out of the truck! The job she loved most was being a Certified Nurse's Aid for adults with mental health disabilities.
Jerri eventually settled in Jacksonville, Florida, where she spent the remainder of her years surrounded by her two daughters, her son, many grandchildren, and just as many fur babies!
Jerri passed away on Sunday, June 2nd 2024 from complications due to cancer. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Jimmy Eugene and John Allen, both dying at birth, her father Gene Holland, and her daughter Nikki Carr. She is survived by her mother Linda and her “bonus Dad” (as Jerri would call him) William Hutcheson, Sister Janiene Thomas, Daughter Tabitha and Son-in-Law Oliver Sandiford, Son Johnathan Rhodman, Son-in-Law Jimmy Carr, Grandsons John Allen Wagnon and Significant-other Rebecca Norris, Elias McGuire, Kaiden Schaefer, Granddaughters Aurbrie Gabrielle Rose Douglas and Significant-other Jordan Hoffmen, and Alexis McGuire.
