Jess Willard Hodges, Jr.

Jess Willard Hodges, Jr., 68, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023. He was born in Palatka, Florida in 1955 to the late Jess and Inez (Davis) Hodges and has lived in Jacksonville for the past 40 years. Jess was Baptist by faith, and a member of the Boiler Makers Union Lodge # 199, he enjoyed fishing, and most of all spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Robin; son, Kenneth Hammond; daughters, Dianne James (David), Melina Hodges, Karrie McCary (Josh), and Penny Schutt (Geoffi); brothers William Brown, (Martha), David Hodges (Pam), and Kenneth Farmer (Billy); sister, Vivian Hall; grandchildren, Breanna, Carie, Danny, Travis, Leslie, Samuel, Lettye, Kaylee, Emma, (Ray), Lily, and Kaleb, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023, at 11 am in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, Jacksonville. The family will receive friends at the funeral starting at 10 am on Friday. Burial will follow at a later date.
