Jimmie Eugene Sessions

Obituary for Jimmie E. Sessions Sr. Jimmie E. Sessions Sr., born on May 30, 1953, in Fort Myers, Florida, passed away on July 9, 2024, surrounded by his family. Jimmie was 71 years old. He is preceded in death by his parents, Plouden and Alice Sessions; siblings: Earl, Marvin, Donald Lee, Raymond, Jerry, Glenn, Margaret, Shirley, Mary, and Barbara; his son, Jimmie Sessions Jr.; and his grandchild, Brittany Michelle Maynard. Jimmie is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Katrina Sessions; his children: Lori Maynard (Martin), Lisa Maynard, and Erin Judge (John); his grandchildren: Austen, Courtney, Jimmie III, Ariel, Bryan, Alexia, Megan, and Grace; and his great-grandchildren: Ava and Samora. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jimmie graduated from Fort Myers Senior High School and attended Edison Community College, where he received his associate degree in Human Resources. Later in life, Jimmie received his doctoral degree from a Christian University, graduating as the class valedictorian. After school, he worked at Lee County as a Supervisor. Following his tenure at Lee County Public Works, Jimmie began a 41-year career in ministry. His first assignment was at the Church of God of Prophecy in Bokeelia, Florida. He then moved to Pensacola, Florida, where he ministered at the Church of God of Prophecy for one year. His final and longest pastoral assignment was at the Church of God 1903 in Jacksonville, Florida, where he served for 34 years as the pastor and the last 24 years as the general overseer. A celebration of life will be held at the Church of God 1903, located at 12769 Gillespie Ave, Jacksonville, Florida 32218, at 11:30 a.m. The service will be officiated by Bishop Danny Hurlburt. Immediately following the service, the family will welcome friends and loved ones for food and drinks. Jimmie E. Sessions Sr. will be remembered for his dedication to his church, his family, and his many friends. His legacy of love, service, and devotion will continue to inspire all who knew him.
