John Thomas Murphy

Murphy – John Thomas Murphy, age 69, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida in 1956 to Robert and Anne (Davidson) Murphy, and has lived in Jacksonville his whole life.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Anne; his brother, Paul; and sister, Pat. He was a loving husband, father and friend and will be dearly missed.

John was a craftsman and wood worker, and his work can still be seen all over the North Florida area. He was also an avid fisherman for many years, receiving his captain’s license in 1996.

Survivors include his wife, Debra (Mullin) Murphy; his sons, J.T. Murphy, Kyle McCormick and Ray Sharon; along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, Florida, with Rev. Dawson Blackshear officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, starting at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
