John Henry Nelson

Nelson        John Henry Nelson, 83, passed on Friday September 23, 2022 at his home with his loving family at his side. John was born in Calhoun County, Alabama in 1938 to the late Luther and Minnie (Williams) Nelson and has lived in Jacksonville since 1954. He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Sharon Nelson, and grandson, Keith Brooks, and many brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Kathleen; sons, Johnny Nelson (Denise), and Matthew Nelson; daughters, Marbeen Tingle, and Louise McDonald (Dana); sister, Marveen Smith (Charles); grandchildren, Kevin, Michael, Trina, Jennifer, Marcus, Michael, Jasmine, and Gracie; great grandchildren, Lathaniel, Kimberly, Johnathan, Joyce, Logan, Joshua, Wayne, Wyatt, Brayden, Richard, and Samuel, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday September 27, 2022, at 3pm in Hollyford Baptist Church, 150 Ford Avenue, Jacksonville, FL.,  with Pastor Joe Giffin officiating. Interment will follow in Dunn Creek Cemetery, Jacksonville. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the church starting at 2pm.
