Joseph Withers Gentison

Gentison                     Joseph Withers Gentison, 91, passed away on Wednesday July 13, 2022 at his home. He was born in 1931 to the late Joseph Ralph and Theresa (Sheridan) Gentison and has lived in Jacksonville most of his life. Joseph was a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School. He was a veteran and served in the National Guard, he was a 32 second degree Mason, and a life member of the Morocco Temple Drum and Bugle Corp. He was Baptist by faith and a longtime member of Highlands Baptist Church of Jacksonville. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Louise Gentison, and daughter, Eydie Romedy. Survivors include his son, Ralph Gentison and wife, Gina. Son in law, Bryan Romedy; grandchildren, Brandon, and Jenifer; great grandchildren, Kaleigh, Neveah, Caridee, and Bryanna, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday July 18, 2022 at 11am in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, with Pastor Art Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, Jacksonville. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon at the funeral home from 3pm until 5pm.
