Joseph Michael Pace

Retired Navy Chief Petty Officer Joseph Michael Pace, of Yulee, Florida, passed away Thursday afternoon, May 15, 2025.  Joseph was born in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Amelia A. Pace and the late Donald E. Pace Sr. Joseph enlisted in the United States Navy in 1985.  His first duty station was in Brunswick, Maine, where he was attached to Patrol Squadron Two Six (VP-26) from 1986 to 1990.  Joseph then transferred here to Jacksonville, Florida, at Cecil Field, attached to Strike Fighter Squadron One Zero Six (VFA-106) from 1990 to 1993. Here is where Joseph met his beautiful wife, Theresa, in 1990, and they were married in 1992. He then moved over to Strike Fighter Squadron Three Seven (VFA-37), working on FA-18 fighter jets onboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower and the USS Theodore Roosevelt from 1993 to 1998.  Joseph continued his career in the Navy, being stationed at Mayport NAS with the Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department (AIMD) from 1998 to 2001. Then from 2001 to 2005, he was attached to Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light Four Two (HSL-42) working on MH-60R Seahawk Helicopters onboard the USS Hawes. After his time at Mayport NAS, he then went to NAS Jacksonville in 2005, working in Aircraft Quality and Corrosion Control with the Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE). NAS JAX is where he retired from on June 30th, 2008.

Joseph leaves behind his wife of 32 years, Theresa, Yulee, Florida, and two sons, Holden Pace, Yulee, Florida, Mason and Kristen Pace, Sheridan, Arkansas, two granddaughters Scarlett Jo and Chloe Marie, one brother Donald and Robin Pace, Dearborn, Michigan, One nephew Steven Pace, Detroit, Michigan and many other cousins and friends in Michigan.

A Graveside Service with Full Military Honors will be held on Thursday, June 5th, 2025, 2:30pm at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL,32218, Lane # 2
