June M. Lewis

The loving Spirit of 103 year old June M Williams Lewis of Jacksonville, FL is now with our Lord. Ms. Lewis a long time resident of Holly Ford Jacksonville, FL and Charter Member of Holly Ford Baptist Church passed away on JUNE 2, 2022. Ms. Lewis’ was married 72 years her husband James Lewis preceded her death in 2007. Ms. Lewis is survived by two daughters. Carol Louise Smith (husband Charles Smith) and Patsy Lee Meares. Two grand daughters Lisa Meares and Karen O’Boyle. Two grandsons Gary Smith and Jeffrey Smith. Nine great grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Two Sisters Lois Davis and Marcella Griffin in Texas. Ms. Lewis was born in Waycross Ga. Ms’ Lewis parents was Walter Williams and Lola Mintz Williams. Grandparents, J. H. Mintz and Fanny Mintz. Ms. Lewis moved from Waycross GA to Jacksonville FL at the age of 19. As a parent of two girls she began her parent/working career at F W Woolworth’s Department store responsible for candy display. Developed expert skills working with canvas material at Jacksonville Ship Chandlery. Retired as owner of Lewis Canvas Company. Ms. Lewis enjoyed her Christian fellowship at Holly Ford Baptist Church was active in leading church choir and often talked about teaching a ladies Sunday school class for receiving The Standard of Excellence Award. Ms. Lewis enjoyed the special attention and service provided by Pam at Terry’s Grill. June 7, 2022. The Celebration Service will be held at 1:30pm on Tuesday June 7, 2022 at Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, with Dr. Terry Gore officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday starting at 12:30 pm.  Interment will follow in  Rest lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Jacksonville, Florida.
