Kenneth Wayne Weldon (Kenny) was born in Jacksonville, Florida on March 29, 1956,
and passed away on August 2, 2024. While he was a long-time resident of Jacksonville,
Florida, he loved visiting family in Alabama, traveling for work as a truck driver, and
exploring any woods and waterways where he could hunt and fish. Kenny loved nothing
more than spending time with his family, goofing off, and hunting and fishing. His family
wishes for him to be remembered as he was: a fiercely strong, protective man that
would do anything, for anyone.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Corben and Vera Weldon; sister, Mickey
Kellum; and 2 brothers, Corben Weldon Jr. and Michael Weldon. He is survived by his
loving wife of 43 years, Theresa Weldon; three daughters, Dora Smith, Stephanie Scott
(Merton), and Stacy Long; sister, Rebecca Copher (Ira); brother, Scott Weldon (Carrie);
six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, extended family
members, and close friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Cedar Bay Funeral Home on Friday, August 9, 2024,
at 12 noon. The family will begin receiving friends at 11 am at the funeral home..
