Obituary

Griffis         Landon Erwin Griffis, 84, passed away on Monday April 3, 2023. He was born in Lawtey, Florida in 1938 to the late Wilford and Bertha Griffis and has lived in Jacksonville most of his life. He attended Bradford High School in Starke. He was a 32-second-degree Mason and a member of Lodge # 35 of Starke. He loved gardening, spending time with family, and most of all he loved serving God. He is preceded in death by his wife Shirley, sister, Elgin Wheeler, and Grandson, Justin Green. Survivors include his son, Wayne Green (Lisa), daughters, Arline Nelson (Lester), Janine Canterbury (Donald), Sharline Griffis, and Donna Dawson; grandchildren, Amanda Ackerman, Landon Canterbury, Jennifer Green, Eddie Martinausky, and Everett Cashion;  7 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 7, 2023, at 11 am in Kingsley Lake Cemetery Starke, Florida, with Rev. Billy Canterbury officiating. The visitation will be held on Thursday afternoon from 5 pm until 7 pm at Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, Fl.
