Leasa Anne Barfield was a beautiful and caring mother, sister and friend, who always had a smile and loved to make people laugh. She passed away suddenly on July 8th, 2022 at the age of 52. She was born to Johnny William Barfield, Sr. and Linda Ann Cole on July 12, 1969 in Jacksonville, Florida.
She is preceded in death by her father, Johnny William Barfield, Sr.; brother, John William Barfield, Jr. and her sister, Tresa Lynn Lang. Survivors include her son, Owen Aubrey Ward, Jr. and wife, Keri; mother, Linda Ann Cole; and many other family members, loved ones, and friends.
After graduating from Florida Community College of Jacksonville, she worked as model and a leasing agent for various communities around Jacksonville, as well as cared for her mother. Leasa was a devout Christian, who had a passion for cosmetology, fashion, and design. She enjoyed everything about the beach, from tanning in the sun, feeling the sand with her toes, to the sound of the water and the waves. She loved fancy cars, 80’s music, Disney princess movies (especially Beauty and the Beast), spending time with her family and bouquets of flowers. And just like the flowers that she loved, despite the condition of the soil, she always did her best to bloom. The world just needed her presence, not her perfection.
Funeral services will be held at Cedar Bay Chapel, 405 New Berlin Rd in Jacksonville at 11 am with Pastor Jim Matthews officiating. Visitation will be from 10- 11 am, one hour prior to the service.
