Lester Driggers Jr, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend passed away on February 17th, 2023 at the age of 74. He was born December 19th, 1948 in Charleston, South Carolina. He joined the U.S. Army at 18 and served in Vietnam. He married the love of his life in 1970 with whom he spent 53 years.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Molly Aycock; father, Lester Driggers Sr., uncle, Hank, and Aunt Faye; sisters, Cathy and Sara; brothers, Terri, Gus, and Allan.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Driggers; children, Doris (Chris) Ricketts, Dorothy (Terry) Akins, Leslie Driggers, and Christina Mullinax and his only and favorite son, Lester William (Jamie) Driggers. He has twelve grandchildren Robyn, Corena, Kaitlynn, Lester Aric, Shaylynn, Sara, William, Michael, Bradley, Makayla, Brianna, and Daniel. He has four great-grandchildren Adrianna, Raiden (his best friend), Tinsley, and Lester Ayden. Our dad was a great father that would lend a helping hand to anyone. He will live in our hearts forever.
Funeral services will be held at Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Rd., Jacksonville, Florida, on Wednesday, February 22nd, 2023, at 12 noon with Pastor Billy Jones officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Jacksonville National Cemetery at 2 pm.
