Linda K. Alvarez

Alvarez - Linda Kay Baine Alvarez, age 82, passed away at her home on August 10, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born in Cairo, Illinois, on April 10, 1943, to Harold and Loraine Baine.  Linda attended Andrew Jackson High School and graduated in 1961. The following year, Linda married Robin Alvarez on June 16, 1962. They were happily married for 63 years and were blessed with two sons. Linda was a homemaker and spent her time raising her two sons. She served on the Highlands Little League Women’s Auxiliary for several years helping build and promote the Little League program. Linda was the official scorekeeper for numerous baseball and softball games throughout her tenure.  Afterwards she embarked on a new adventure learning how to fish for largemouth bass which eventually engulfed the entire family in some manner. Linda was preceded in death by her father, Harold H. Baine; mother, Loraine Baine; and brother, Harold R. “Bud” Baine.

Linda is survived by her husband, Robin; sons, Dean and Darel (Traci); and two grandchildren, Dakotah and Janessa.

A Graveside Service for Linda will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, 4535 North Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206. Enter through the main entrance (Gate 1) and attendants will direct you. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
