Lola Jean McNew, 74, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the Warner Center for Caring (Community Hospice) in Fernandina Beach, Florida after a courageous battle with cancer.
Lola was born in Cassity, West Virginia, the daughter of the late William and Bessie (Johnson) McDonald but had lived most all of her life here in Jacksonville. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed playing cards ,tennis, baking ,camping and the beach; but most of all loved being with her family and friends.
Mrs. McNew was preceded in death by her parents, her granddaughter, Sheryl Jean Johnson and her beloved husband of 46 years, David McNew (2010)
Survivors include her two daughters, Pamela Dumschott (Robert) of Beacon Falls, CT and Mary Johnson, of Jacksonville, FL; brothers, Bobby McDonald (Donna) and Ronnie McDonald both reside in WV; sisters, Wanda Poling of WV and Greta Schunter (Chris) of St. Augustine, FL; grandson, Brandon David Dumschott of Beacon Falls, CT; and many nieces,nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be conducted on Thursday, November 7, 2019, at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services (12:00 pm until 1:00 pm).
